Our Founders

Shammy Jacob & Charlotte van’t Klooster

Shammy Jacob and Charlotte van’t Klooster are the heart behind Jacob & Klooster Farms. Shammy, ex-director of Sustainable ventures with Nike Inc, brings a passion for creative thinking, exponential technology and leadership. Charlotte, a PhD in Medicine from the Netherlands, brings her love for nature, ethnobotany, anthropology and indigenous knowledge.

Together, they’ve created a space where people, animals, and ideas can grow—naturally and joyfully.

Our History

We are adventurous by nature. In 2013 we traded our home and life in Amsterdam for our farm in Thalambur. At that time nothing existed; no internet or stable power or even a postal address.
Today our urban farm on the outskirts of Chennai is bursting with life and creativity. A place we grow with love: our two boys, dogs, chickens, ducks, cows, birds, a vegetable garden and a fruit orchard.
